· Grunt was Hal Schmidt's old lab who went to college with him and was a constant companion. Grunt's GPA was higher than Hal's

·Ruby is a longhaired dachshund and belonged to a dear friend and colleague of Hal Schmidt’s. I cannot remember her name. Hal purchased this portrait for her as a Christmas present the same year as the portraits above.
